About West Kelowna

Welcome to West Kelowna, where the spirit of community meets the beauty of nature.

Located in the stunning Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, West Kelowna is a vibrant city on the west shores of Okanagan Lake, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, rolling vineyards, and rich Indigenous heritage. Incorporated as a city in 2015, West Kelowna is home to over 36,000 residents and continues to grow as one of the most sought-after places to live, work, and explore in the region.

This is a community that values connection whether it's among neighbours, to the land, or through the celebration of local arts, culture, and history. West Kelowna is proud to be part of the traditional territory of the Syilx/Okanagan people and works closely with Westbank First Nation to honour and integrate Indigenous culture and stewardship into our shared future.

At its heart, West Kelowna blends modern living with outdoor adventure. With over 139 parks, trails, and green spaces, residents and visitors can enjoy year-round activities from hiking and cycling to skiing and boating. The area is also known for its award-winning wineries, agri-tourism, and local markets that showcase the bounty of the Okanagan.

But it’s not just about the views it’s about the people. West Kelowna thrives on community involvement, volunteerism, and local leadership. The city continues to invest in smart growth, infrastructure, and services that support a high quality of life for all ages.

Our website is your central hub for staying connected to what’s happening in West Kelowna. Here, you’ll find community news, event listings, updates from City Hall, local business directories, and resources for residents and newcomers alike.

Whether you’re a family settling into your forever home, a business owner looking to grow, or a visitor discovering the Okanagan lifestyle, West Kelowna welcomes you with open arms.

Let’s celebrate the land we live on, the people who shape it, and the future we’re building together.

This is West Kelowna naturally vibrant, deeply rooted, and always evolving.
